Must-Do Maintenance In Humid Weather: Seasonal Reminder For All Clients
With recent continuous rainy days and high humidity, walls, furniture and cabinet hardware are easily affected by moisture. This is the most sensitive season for whole-house custom cabinets.
Today I sent a detailed seasonal cabinet maintenance reminder to all our existing clients. It is not for sales or follow-up purposes — it is simply our responsibility as a reliable direct factory. Cabinet delivery is never the end of our service. Long-term durability, moisture resistance, and stable daily use are our real delivery standards.
Most homeowners don’t know that 70% of custom cabinet failures happen in humid seasons. Deformed panels, sticky doors, rusty hinges, moldy gaps, stuck drawers and swollen boards are mostly caused by poor daily moisture maintenance.
1. Keep proper ventilation
Long-term closed windows trap heavy moisture indoors. On dry days, keep windows open for air circulation. On rainy & super humid days, close rain-facing windows to balance indoor humidity and prevent cabinet boards from absorbing moisture.
2. Reserve breathing space inside cabinets
Do not stuff clothes and quilts too tightly. Over-packed cabinets block air flow, easily causing mildew, odor and damp deformation. Leaving reasonable space keeps cabinets dry and fresh all year round.
3. Regularly check door hinges
High humidity easily causes slight rust and water accumulation on hardware, leading to abnormal noise and poor door closing. Simply wipe hinges dry to maintain smooth operation and extend service life.
4. Avoid water accumulation near cabinets
Do not use overly wet mops or leave standing water near cabinet bases, skirting boards and floor corners. Board swelling caused by water absorption is irreversible and permanent damage.
5. Place dehumidifier bags inside wardrobes
Put desiccant or dehumidifier bags in wardrobes, shoe cabinets and balcony cabinets. It is the most effective low-cost way to prevent mildew, odor and damp problems.
Many clients told me that no other renovation or custom cabinet company has ever taken the initiative to send seasonal maintenance reminders after project completion.
Most merchants disappear after final payment, offering zero active after-sales or maintenance guidance.
But we always believe:
Quality whole-house customization is not only about beautiful appearance at delivery, but also long-term stable and worry-free use.
We inspect sites, control details, track quality, and take initiative in maintenance, because we value reputation more than one-time orders.
A well-maintained custom cabinet can stay new, non-deformable and mold-free for more than 10 years.
If you have any cabinet problems during humid weather — sticky doors, damp panels, rusty hardware or uneven gaps — feel free to contact us. We provide lifelong maintenance support for all our clients.
